The Elimination Diet is one of the most effective and commonly used tools by Functional practitioners and Nutritional therapists to regain your vitality and clear up chronic symptoms, by identifying whether the foods in your day-to-day diet are FUELING or FOOLING your body.
In other words, we must start by personalising your diet and identifying your food sensitivities! 

 
                                                                                         Food allergy, sensitivity or intolerance ?
FOOD ALLERGY
  • Allergies can develop at any age and to foods you have eaten before
  • Leads to symptoms like hives, itching; vomiting or anaphylaxis (a severe, whole-body allergic reaction)immediately after eating a particular food trigger,  
FOOD SENSITIVITY
  • Reactions can be delayed, In fact, because of the gradual immune response produced with food sensitivities, symptoms can take as long as 3 days to reach a peak!  And because of this you may be eating foods to which you’re sensitive on a daily basis without even suspecting them to be an issue.
  • Regular consumption of foods that are activating your immune system leads to inflammation, and that inflammation is what causes the symptoms you’ve been experiencing. ​ These symptoms can include: fatigue, bloating, heartburn, digestive upset, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), anxiety, chronic sinus congestion or cough, eczema, acne, joint pain, migraines, headaches and more. 
FOOD INTOLERANCE
  •  Reactions occur exclusively within the digestive system
  •  Often caused by enzyme deficiencies or reactions to natural components or additives in food
  •  Small amounts of the food may be tolerated but larger amounts may lead to heartburn, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhoea or constipation
  •  Intolerance may be temporary 
  •  Food intolerances are much more common than food allergies.  
 
Without a systematic approach it’s incredibly challenging to identify your food sensitivities, which is why we use the Elimination Diet, and even then, without proper guidance this can still be a confusing task, which is why I will be guiding you through the whole process.

Here's how the Elimination Diet Plan works:                                                                                                          
        Eliminate
Remove the foods from your diet that commonly cause inflammation, these include: Corn , dairy, gluten grains, sugar, pork, processed foods, nightshade vegetables, coffee, tea and chocolate (histamine foods will be considered for those who have suspected issues) while enjoying a delicious, anti-inflammatory meal plan.

Reduce inflammation
Nourish your body with a delicious whole food diet to relieve inflammation and renew health.

Reintroduce
Test foods one at a time to identify the food sensitivities that are causing your chronic health concerns.


Through this programme you will learn:
  • Food triggers that are causing the inflammation and chronic symptoms you may currently be experiencing, foods that lower inflammation, and how to structure your diet to fuel your body.
  • PLUS, you can add in daily online morning Kundalini yoga sessions with Virgini !!! These will help you eliminate waste through the lungs, re-energise & rebalance the body and mind, and calm the overactive nervous system.

Is the Elimination Diet a weight loss program?
Consuming foods that trigger your immune system causes inflammation and the production of a stress hormone called cortisol, which can cause stubborn weight gain, bloating and water retention. The elimination of food sensitivities from your diet can help to reduce this inflammation and balance your hormones, both of which are very important to enable your body to release weight! Many participants lose weight quickly on the Elimination Diet and the identification of your food triggers can also help you keep the weight off long-term.
What if I don’t want to lose weight?
If you find that you are not getting enough food to satisfy your appetite while following the pre-made meal plans, you are free to add in more food. Guidance is provided within the program, and there is never a need to feel hungry or deprived!
Is the Elimination Diet suitable for my family?
Most of the time you’ll find no need to cook separate meals, and your kids and spouse will also benefit from the nutritious, healthy food. Please note that while the recipes themselves are suitable for children, the program is created for adults and isn’t intended for young children.
Which foods will I be eliminating and testing with the program?
The Elimination Diet is very comprehensive, guiding you to eliminate and test the following foods to determine how they affect your body: Sugar, citrus fruits, shellfish, chocolate, corn, soy, oats, eggs, wheat and other gluten-containing grains, dairy (cheese, yogurt, milk and butter), all processed foods. For some the removal of nightshade vegetables (bell peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes) may be needed too.
Are supplements required ?
Supplements are not required as part of the Elimination Diet, but you can optionally continue with your current supplement regime or have a chat about suitable supplements to add. Additional details are provided within the program.
What can I eat on the Elimination Diet?
Even during the most restrictive Elimination Phase of the program you will still be able to enjoy a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, lean meats, fish, seeds and optionally legumes and non- gluten grains. Recipes include tasty salads, soups, stews, stir-fries, smoothies, cereals, and SO much more! After the Elimination Phase, additional ingredients will gradually be reintroduced throughout the next 2-weeks to assess for inflammatory reactions.
